6 SIMPLE STRATEGIES TO SOLVE OILY SKIN AT HOME

1. Wash your face morning and night with high quality products that are specifically designed to manage oily skin.

DRY CLEANSE YOUR FACE

2. Perform a dry cleanse technique:

Apply cleanser directly onto dry skin, gently circling the cleanser on your face, the same way you would if you were using water.  This prevents you from diluting your cleanser  and wait a few minutes before adding water. Massage cleanse for a minimum of 60 seconds to ensure residual oil, debris, and bacteria is decreased.

3. Maintain hydration to the skin topically with toners and moisturizers suited to oily skin.

OIL IS NOT HYDRATION, and water doesn’t actually hydrate your skin, but if your dehydrated you will find that your skins texture will not be the best it can be.  Cells are made of water and water is needed to improve the transportation system in the cell.  I’m talking about the ability of the cell to move nutrients and toxins in and out of your cell.  Healthy cells = healthy skin.  Oil prevents your skin from maintaining its water, but more on THAT in another post.

4. Perform an emollient cleanse technique:

Spraying toner on top of the cleanser and massage in for 60 seconds before rinsing with water. This provides the skin with more intense penetration of ingredients from both the cleanser and toner combination. This intensive at home technique may cause some tingling in the skin which suggests that there is a pattern interrupt to the skin cells and thus causing a renewal to the cells such as oil regulation and added hydration

5. DIET, DIET, DIET:

Did I mention DIET? This is soooo important. Choosing a healthy diet plan will provide positive bodily function with hormone balance and therefore, support a healthier normal complexion

6. Humidity in your environment:

A well humidified home may help in skin hydration, there is research that can suggest that this will improve your skin health, but its more of a method to prevent you from loosing water to the air.  More on this in a later post.

I hope this helps, but if your still struggling, feel free to book a FREE in person consultation at our Centre in Edmonton or at any of our affiliated Medical Spas.
